Started from the new car park at the end of the public road, taking the track as far as Upper Glendessary where a signs points the way to Inverie. We were now on a path that leads you to the river, there is a bridge downstream if in spate. Once over the river we continue on the path to a small marker cairn and the path leading upto Sgurr nan Coireachan. The SMC books calls it " a relentless 750m climb", which is exactly what it was. After the first summit the going becomes easier over the ridge Garbh Chioch Mhor with some fine views along the way. From Garbh Chioch Mhor we drop down to the col and then it's a fairly easy climb to Munro number three, Sgurr na Ciche. We now return to the col and follow the stream down, which would be difficult in spate conditions, before picking up the right of way path back to the start. Rather than stay on this path which was quite boggy on the way in, we decided to take the track through the forest thinking it would give better walking, it didn't and i don't think it saved us anymore time either, so probably advise to stay on main path. When we returned to the car we drove back along Loch Arkaig to find a camping spot for the night as we would be walking again the following day.
