Just a short report on a walk i did with a friend July 2007.

The walk started in Glenridding and headed towards Striding edge via Birkhouse Moor.

Upon arrival at Striding edge the weather took a turn for the worse and the wind was unbelievably strong on the ridge.

We tried to stay on the crest of the ridge but was forced to deviate down to the bypass path on one occasion due to the high winds and wet slippery rock.
Overall i really enjoyed the walk and would recommend it to anyone its just a pity we didn't see much of it.On a clear day it would be spectacular.

Typical lake weather by the looks of it. Just goes to show, 15th July and you cannot expect glorious sunshine. :)

Well I wouldn't do it in snow or high winds personally... but a lovely photo anyway... Helvellyn does have good-weather days though - I've had plenty of sunny days up there - I suppose it just depends how often you can get up there...

About 10 times a year (for Helvellyn alone) - best wee circular route in the Lakes (apart from maybe Blencathra with Sharp Edge) with some 'interesting' bits
