Here is my diary entry for this day.....
Well that's it done - an utterly fabulous day out. The weather couldn't have been better. We set off under a clear blue sky on near enough the longest day of the year. We took route "A" in the McNeish book - i.e. up to the so called half way Lochain, clockwise round the route. Then across Coire Leis and up the other side to the top of Carn Mor Dearg. From there we followed the ridge all the way to the top of Ben Nevis which, of course, was fairly busy. Got the stove out and made us a roll and square sausage and a hot drink. Took the tourist route down and we were both very glad we hadn't come up that way - it would have been soul destroying. No boring paragraphs about what a fabulous mountain this is and besides I don't have the words to describe it or do it justice - it has to be experienced to appreciate it.
