Route description: The Cairnwell Munros

Munros included on this walk: Càrn a' Ghèoidh, Càrn Aosda, The Cairnwell

Corbetts included on this walk: Ben Gulabin

Date walked: 11/01/2014

Time taken: 6.25 hours

Distance: 16.7 km

Ascent: 908m

I really enjoyed these 3 too, lovely views to be had. Looks like you had a great day for it, lovely photos.

That route's a really good option for these hills if you have 2 cars. Another nice alternative is to start from Baddoch and climb the N ridge of Carn Aosda, and return from Carn a' Gheoidh via the track along the Baddoch Burn. It's quite feasible to add An Socach into this round as well.

Oh my goodness Pigeon, a complete contrast to the conditions I had when I did these hills with my daughter!

We had warm, wet murky clag and saw heehaw :-(

Despite your cold biting wind, I think prefer your day out- excellent photos !!

That's a shame Polly,they weren't high on my re-visit list but it's amazing what a bit of good weather can do :wink:

Been meaning to post a comment on your report pigeon, but just not been about much these days. All four of these hills are good in my view. A much maligned area, and unfairly so I think. Looks like you all had a good day too, with some nice photos :thumbup:
