It's that time when we get to choose which of January's walk report authors are the first winners of 2014!

Prizes, as always, are £60 to spend on outdoor gear at Webtogs for the winning report, and £30 for the runner up.

First out, it was hard to get away from Mountainlove's epic account of her (probably) once in a lifetime trip to Patagonia: Patagonia - Torres del Paine Trek. In recognition of great planning, stunning pictures, and willingness to share her amazing experience with us, Mountainlove is the winner of £60 to spend on Webtogs. Congratulations Mountainlove!

Winner of £30 spending money this month is Riverman for Carn Mor Dearg - lessons learned. Not only is it an intriguing account with some great winter scenery, but there are also priceless lessons enclosed! Riverman proves that there are more important things when you're out in the mountains than reaching your target summit. Hopefully £30 to spend on new gear will help ease the pain of not making it to the top of the Ben that day. Congrats Riverman!

It was a great batch of reports this month, thanks as always for sharing them on Walk Highlands.

Thanks everyone! And congratulations to Mountainlove. Great report and super photos of Torres del Paine. What a stunning landscape! Happy hiking everyone. Let's hope the weather gods shine more favourably on the UK in Feb than Jan!
