Some mountains are better kept for a particular day and Ben Chonzie had been one of them. Since I climbed it I can advice anyone who wants to head out in the snow and is a bit scared, that this would be a great mountain for an winter outing. No steep slopes if you follow the recommended path and if you get a good day the views are lovely.
The drive up to the mountain was great, but I took a double turn when I spotted a white Kangaroo next to the road. :eh: :eh: :eh: :eh: I must have been dreaming (or started seeing things), but made a mental note to check it out on my return (if it would still be there) 8)
The starting point is easy to find and all in all the walk and path was a doddle and much more enjoyable that I imagined Ben Chonzie would be.

Ok as I guess no one believes me anyway...after we investigated the 'White Kangaroo' turned out to be a white Wallabies on a fenced in inclosure next to a wildlife park :-) At least I had not imagined things

Done Chonzie a few times. It's a great wee hill to find your winter legs. Love the picture of the cloud rolling in

Good choice given the conditions, ML. I like the wallaby pictures. Did you see any of Chonzie's famous hares? They'll be white too now, of course.

I've passed llamas (or alpacas? Or are they they same?) on the way up a hill in Scotland, but never wallabies!
Is the 'winter art' caused by rime ice? Never actually seen any before.

Oh that looked like a really good day, and you got some really nice pics

I have encountered white wallaby whilst looking for an overgrown henge in a forest near Luton of all places (see, I do venture south of the border sometimes  ) there were quite a few!
Must be fugatives from Whipsnade I would expect, but still a bizarre sight

Unfortunately I did not see any :( Had hoped to see some other while animals but the Wallabies were the only ones

I think the main difference between Llamas and Alpacas is the size (Llamas are twice as big) but so far I have only seen them on fields.
