Some mountains are better kept for a particular day and Ben Chonzie had been one of them. Since I climbed it I can advice anyone who wants to head out in the snow and is a bit scared, that this would be a great mountain for an winter outing. No steep slopes if you follow the recommended path and if you get a good day the views are lovely.
The drive up to the mountain was great, but I took a double turn when I spotted a white Kangaroo next to the road.
I must have been dreaming (or started seeing things), but made a mental note to check it out on my return (if it would still be there)
The starting point is easy to find and all in all the walk and path was a doddle and much more enjoyable that I imagined Ben Chonzie would be.
Ben Chonzie in the distance
Curious sheep
Looking back, when the clouds started clearing
The views started to get lovely
White nothingness
The fence on the way up
Approaching cloud
The wall of cloud 'rolling in'
The cairn at the top was somewhere below the snow
Great winter art
Looking back on the way down...thats what I call an easy to follow path
The white 'Kangaroo' on the hill
The 'White Kangaroo' spotted again
Ok as I guess no one believes me anyway...after we investigated the 'White Kangaroo' turned out to be a white Wallabies on a fenced in inclosure next to a wildlife park
At least I had not imagined things
