Up to Glen Lochay with Hugh & John. Followed the described WH route up through the muddy fields, and left up the broad shoulder to the summit. Not as strenuous as I thought it would have been. A wee sting in the tail as it steepens a bit before the summit. Lots of deep snow and blowing a gale at the summit. Complete white-out at summit. Plotted bearing and descended down the way we had came up. A bit wet and muddy on the lower slopes.

A good walk. I would do this one again but in the summer so I can see something from the summit.

When you say the snow was deep at the top how deep are you talking? Considering doing this one soon so would be good to get a heads up.

Also where is the snow line at the moment?

There are patches of deep snow but these are usually on the leeward side of a rise or some other object that slowed the wind and allowed the snow to accumulate. The snow on the summit was pretty icy so crampons are a must. When the snow was not icy it was quite wet so compacted pretty well. Some bits you could walk on, other bits we would sink into. We just paid attention to the 'look' of the snow and tried to head for the bits that didn't look deep, sometimes this worked, other times we sunk up to our calf, knees or thighs.

If I remember correctly we crossed the snow line between 400 and 450 meters.

All just pretty typical of hillwalking in Scotland in Winter. If you have the right kit and knowledge, then it should not prove too much of a challenge.
