Originally planned to bag these last November but days off coincided with crap weather so I've been putting them off...until now ha ha!

Parked and set off just after 8:30, tarmac road initially then there's a marked path to Carn Ban Mor:

Up to the trees.

Through a gate.

Past the trees there's an obvious path etched into the hill.

Into the clag:

Path leads to a cairn, there are 4 other paths leading away from this so easy to get lost in the clag.
Image

First path on the left goes to Sgor Gaoith. A lot of the ascent has been covered by this point so it's just an easy walk on the plateau.
Image

Then back to the crossroads cairn, went on the south east path this time to join the main land rover track to Mullach. Patches of snow-covered bog on the way, the snow was firmish most of the time. Main track:

Followed this:

Mullach Clach a'Bhlair:

View south from top:

Then retraced steps and descended Meall nan Sleac, again a clear path past the snow.

Views on the way down:

The path was easy to descend so I was almost jogging on the way down. Into Glen Feshie:

Met another walker who was doing both Munros in the opposite direction so he'd hopefully get less clag on top. I wanted to get the ascent over early and had a nice walk through the glen to end the day though.

Couple of burns to cross so I kind of waded through and trusted the gaiters.

The walk along the glen seems fairly popular, Carn Ban Beag ahead marks the end.

Great report :) Hoping to head up Braeriach next week but was planning this exact route as a potential backup if conditions weren't great. Did the snow ever merit the use of crampons? Doesn't look too bad in your pics!

I brought them but they stayed in the pack all day, snow was easy to walk on yesterday & there weren't any steep sections so you won't have any problems.

Nice to see these two in winter outfit :D Shame you didn't get the views from Sgor Gaoith, that's the highlight of this route.

We actually saw A CAR on that track between the two M's when we did them... It must have been a 4wheel drive and it was crawling at a very slow pace, but it was so weird! It didn't fit into the surrounding landscape at all

What perfect timing for your report.
I am off to do these in the morning having bailed out a month or so ago when in a whiteout getting onto the plateau. Did not fancy finding the first summit in those conditions.
Looks good for tomorrow though. Thanks for the up to dat conditions etc.
