Whenever I read reports on WH, I always think it's hard to determine whether I'll manage to climb them because everyone is so different in age, fitness and determination. I always look at the "boots" factor at the bottom of the directions and think, eeek, there's 4 boots.... that looks hard. So I'll make this short and sweet!
We two ladies, 59 and 30, set off from the farm at Inverlochlarig at 9.45 on a bright day and steadily plodded upwards after starting on the farm track. There was no diversions or work going on. It was a fairly hard slog heading up Beinn Tulaichean but we had lots of photo opportunities to recover. On reaching the summit and looking over to Cruach Ardrain, I thought, "Oh no, I don't think I can manage the second Munro!" (partly cos I had to get back for the Prince gig in Glasgow). However, it was pretty easy and only took us 35 minutes to reach Cruach Ardrain. We sauntered back down on the suggested circular route back, down to the Inverlochlarig burn and got back to the car by 3.30.
We had a great, cloud free summits day and I even manage to dance later at Prince!
