Following my day off yesterday I was feeling much better I set off early from the car park at the end of Glen Nevis. It was going to be another very warm day in the hills. I followed the path past Steall before taking to the grassy slopes below Sgurr a’Bhuic aiming for the low point to the west of Sgurr Choinnich Beag. Once on the ridge I climbed over Sgurr Choinnich Beag and descended a short distance before the final ascent to Sgurr Choinnich Mor.
- Grey Corries
At the summit I had a long break savouring the views and having some food before setting off along the ridge towards Stob Coire Easain. Some easy scrambling made this section interesting along with a large snow bank which I had to skirt round. From Easain it was easy going to the second Munro of the day Stob Coire an Laoigh. Again the views were outstanding so I again spent some time taking in the views before heading for home.
- Large herd of deer
My route off was down some scree to the small lochans before making a diagonal descent over grass slopes back to the Glen Nevis path which was followed back to the car park.
I stopped off at the Steall ruin and got my boots off and paddled in the stream, heaven.
From Glen Nevis I drove down to the King’s House Hotel
6 down 7 to go.
