A windy Sgor Gaoith

Me Steve and the dug. Started off from the achlean carpark at 0830hrs . Suprise the wind picked up immediatly with the chill it was a nice reminder that winter was here . The plan of the day was from the farm pick up the path up to Carn Ban Mor Sgor Gaoith then ontoMullach Clach a Bhlair. Us being mere mortals know that plans can change .
Once you pick up the path nicely sign posted thru the woods then out into the open this is where the wind made its mark great path takes you up to the bealach where there is a cairn with a junction of paths take the left hand path this takes you up to carnB M a nice wee wind break The summit of Sgor G was in and out of theclouds seeing we had the hill to ourselves we decided to drop the packs on with the wind proofs camera and map and made our way up to the summit . Got to the top at 1130hrs once more the wind made its presence felt so a quick photo then back down .
The hill started getting busy we passed 8 people on the way down and 4 more at the wind break we soon had the break to ourselves and we had our lunch Stevie soon found some extra weight in his pack at least a stone half a mountain to be precise , it appealed to my sick squadie sense of humour but not Stevies a group of four with red jackets and a ginger beard got the blame .
Now onto the second target Mullach . This is where it went aw tae pot we got up to the 1029m point . 7ks to the hill and head long into the wind its 1300hrs and the light is already fading decision made head back and get the hill another day . Trudged back to the crossroads then headed down dodging bikers got back to the carpark at 1430 hrs and had a can of aldis finest german pilsner!! A good day out pity weve to come down this road again.

Aye, i guess the last place you want to be when the wind picks up is in the Cairngorms I've been on Sgor Gaoith twice, both windy and both with no views

Definatley no cover up there Every time Ive been in the Gorms its either been blawin a gale or the heavens have opened up joys!
