First things first ,there is no V in the Gaelic alphabet so I will call her for the correct name , poor hill  .

So Wednesday found me heading South for training, to the arse end of Scotland ,that no voting county called Dumfries  which gave me an opportunity to add a hill on route , so Beinn Meadhan looked a good bet for 4 hours long trip .

Bha an t side sgionneil , tioram agus griannach ann duthaich Parlanach ...... the weather was superb in MacFarlane country , usual uncomplicated route in brilliant conditions

Would be a fun hill in the snow and ice , steep and a hardy pull up the craggy face of her and good seallaidh open up fairly sharp

Well if you are going to insist, should it not be Beinn Mheadhoin (or Beinn Mheadan)???

Nice day for it, however you spell it, though!

I think that walk looks superb, probably because I'm a Doonhamer!

Good day for it ! Can be challenging and tougher than a lot of higher munros. This was my younger son's first munro when he was 10 - remember him repeating the phrase "false summits" a few times that day  - cheers :)

A grand day on a grand hill. The best thing for me about Dumfries, apart from the road out, is Criffel. You might have to do it in the dark though.
