An Diollaidh agus Sgurr na Sgine - Forcan nice for November

A decent forecast had me heading for Cinn Taile and we found ourselves in the land of the MacRaith at 7.45am on Saturday morning . The idea was to traverse the Forcan Ridge before the snow and ice arrives which would allow "an cu" the chance to add to his Munro tally

We were soon following the well made stalkers path up to the Bealach between Biod an Fhithich and Meall Odhar ........ an easy path !

He has been on Fraoich Coire amongst others in snow and ice but its hard work keeping him off the edges so this was going to be easy

Well I have to say the boy passed with flying colours and basically found his own scrambles round the awkward bits although a couple of wee slips had me holding my breath , but hey that is what a Westie /Patterdale cross lives for .... a day on the hill unleashed and free

So off we went , abair aite ...... what a place

We scrambled , pulled and dropped our way over this fantastic wee piece of geology and the weather could not have been better for a man and his dog

So we hit the summit after a wee detour round the drop which even an cu would struggle to achieve but I had a wee clamber back up it while he watched looking puzzled

We spent a while on the summit eating and looking at the vast , clear scene around us .... sgionneil.

We dropped down the usual route and onto the Bealach for the climb up to Sgurr na Sgine no issues although lost the "path" ...to busy gawping about so simply climbed up ...

We spent a while on the summit here as well and spoke to the only person we saw all day a French lassie who was collecting Sgine before heading back to Falkirk ... nice to meet you

Straightforward route back, along to Faochag and off the nose which would land us back near the car must say hard to go down in this weather

"The Cattle Fold of Kintail " is a well known Gaelic song and sums up why a Cinn Taileach will always return home

"Thèid mi dhachaidh hò-rò dachaidh
Thèid mi dhachaidh chrò Chinn t-Sàile"

I think myself and an ghille dubh will be back but not in the snow
