First walk of the year and it was a braw day and a braw walk. 8) This was the first club meet outing of the year and the destination was Balquhidder. I was keen to get up the Corbett Meall an t-Seallaidh. Had a failed attempt 5 years ago from Glen Kendrum in white out conditons. The approach from Kirkton Glen looked good and inspiration came from Pigeons braw report http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=30092

The snow wasn't that deep and the trial had been broken so it was an easy plod up to Rob Roy's Putting Stone.

Stopped for a quick scran by the majestic looking frozen over Lochan an Eireannaich. Here it was time to get out the ice axe and crampons as the snow started to harden. The first taste of the cold North Westerly hit us at the 712m top. It was a bitterly cold wind chill but luckily we were heading South East. The terrain along to Meall an t-Seallaidh was icy, hard and crispy with occasional soft snow. Perfect for the crampons.

Fantastic pics, was up here on Sunday as well, a cracking day on the hill and incredible views to boot.

Wonder if that was you on the summit just after we'd left it to drop down into Glen Kendrum (about 2pm'ish or maybe slightly earlier)?

Image

Spot the resemblance?

All my pics were from the phone, difficult for even I to make them look bad, no matter how hard I tried:
