With Tuesday being, in theory, the only decent weather day of the week, we chose to do some fells around Troutbeck. Parked at Church Bridge and headed along Trout Beck, making for our first fell, Troutbeck Tongue.

It was still a bit fresh, but with the good path, we were soon at the base of the Tongue.

Stony Cove Pike on the way up.

Troutbeck Tongue.
Boggy conditions underfoot, made the small ascent a bit dirty, but we soon topped it.

Nice clear views from the summit were had, before heading along the ridge, heading for Scot's Rake, up to Froswick.

We soon made it up onto Wander Scar, before turning south and making for Froswick.

Once Froswick was topped, we quickly made for Ill Bell as hunger was beginning to set in!!

Unfortunately, once you leave Ill Bell, most of the views are obscured, with only Sallows & Sour Howes to look at :( :?

Helvellyn range has cleared a bit.
Our hunger satisfied, we headed for Yoke. Quite an easy walk along, but a bit farther from Garburn Pass than i remembered

Yoke.
We crossed Garburn Pass, onto the boggy hillside of Sallows which we soon ascended.

From Sallows.
One to go, in Sour Howes. Was quite wet and marshy on the route round, but it was easy going.

Nothing to hang around at the summit for, so we made our way off, and back to the car. It had cleared to the west & the Scafells showed themselves.

Lovely shots of a great hike by the look of it, didn't look to be too many folks around either which is always better

Hi Chris, always better when there is solitude, though there was a number of people about, I just try not to get them in shot
