First four Munros of the year and it just so happened the braw weather coincided with the club meet to Tulloch. 8) Stayed at the station lodge for 3 nights. Great wee place right on the railway line plus the breakfasts & home cooked meals in the evening were plentiful after a long day on the hill.

Started the walk up from Tulloch and into the forest at Burnside Cottage. Came out into the open hillside then back into the forest where we had to bypass a few tree's that were recently blown down. We realised our mistake that we shouldn't have entered the forest. Back tracked then we were on the right path. Forests are nippy when navigating

Decided to head up Beinn Teallach first as we could negotiate the river crossing further down on the way back.

The snow was occasionally soft and easy underfoot so need for the crampons.

Day 2 - (15.3.15) Stob Coire Sgriodain & Chno Dearg - 19km, 7hours, 928m ascent WH Route

After a cracking breakfast me and my pal Sandy set off for the walk to Fersit. Its been a while since I did 2 big days on the trot & felt abit stiff but okay.

A beautiful morning:

The Essians:

At around 500 metres the ground was frozen as we were ascending the North facing slope so it was time for ice axe and crampon action.

After the summit it was time to take the crampons off as the wind had scoured the snow from the summit. Further along the ridge there were ice patches but also soft snow so no need to put the crampons back on.

Superb outing there Kev with some really clear images. Like the view back up Beinn Teallach, nice to see what it looks like with winter garb.
