I'm heading to the mountaineering club's AGM in Dunoon and having a couple of hours to spare meant one thing, head on up a wee Corbett. Starting point was on the Rest and be Thankful road, the A83. where there is a parking area on the East side just beyond the trees and where there has been many a landslip in the past few years. Booted up ready to go at 1200hrs this walk will give me some idea how much snow has fallen on this side of the country.

Heading on up towards the South ridge of the Corbett to be climbed looking towards Beinn an Lochain. Steep and grassy and quite wet in places. Keeping the burn on my right just kept going until a wee breather and a sook of the platypus was needed

Target area was this large stone but having reached it gasping for breath found this strange smell hanging about, well say no more let's get a move on up that hill

Hi Silverhill, a nice wee leg stretch before longer days at the weekend. After the initial steep section it flattens out at the summit, still lots of deep wet snow up top, great views in all directions, well worth it. :D

Hi there Allan, a great area which I have yet to explore a great deal, lots more onb the other side to the West as well, in fact your spoilt for choice, must get back again soon. I take it there is still loads of wet snow where you were as well.

Looks like a very worthwhile way to spend a few spare hours Rod. This combined with Ime has been quite high on my radar for some time.

Hi Graeme, if I had had more time I might of considered Ime, but very wet up top. Ime looked so close as well, nice area which I have not been to many times I must admit, better change that, plenty more nereby :D
