The weather was looking promising for the weekend, so I decided to pluck up the courage and go for my first solo camp. This is also my first walk report and I have decided to share this amazing experience. I'll let the pictures and video tell the story...

Destination - Buachaille Etive Beag, Glencoe.

It's not until you get a perfectly clear night and get away from city lights that you truly experience the sky lit up by millions of stars. I've never seen so many stars before, breath taking is an understatement!! I'm by no means an expert photographer and certainly not at astrophotography. The next few hours were spent messing about with camera settings trying to capture the night sky.

A few hours later I was back on the Summit of Stob Coire Rainneah for Sunrise.

I then packed up camp and was back at the car for 07:45am. I stopped for another few photos on journey home.

Great photos and great report! I'm hoping to go for my first solo camp in the hills later this year also... your 'View from the tent' photo almost has me packing my bag already. Cheers!

Have to agree the photos are stunning, excellent report.
The star photos are cracking, maybe you specialised in astrophotography in a previous life
