Night gear for a dog??

Night gear for a dog??

Postby Ghrabii » Wed Jun 10, 2015 11:21 am

Hi,
Long story cut short -> I want to go with my wife to go to bag Beinn Achaladair and 2 nearby ones tommorow in the afternoon start and finish in the morning seeing such great weather over there.
At this moment we also take care of our neighbours dog, and want to take him with us, some time ago he was with us and was fine, but then it was a day, now night. Still it should be bright and short but night still.
What should I take, how I should prepare our dog for this walk? hi vis dog jacket, or something else?
I do know to take food and water for him.
Would appreciate for a quick reply.
cheers

I don't know much about dogs, but friends of mine have a mad spaniel which they put a reflective collar on, and also a little red-LED light which flashes (Shaped like a dog bone).

A hi vis dog jacket should do the trick, if he doesn't stay close then a LED dog collar is another good thing to add, I find the ones that hang from the collar tend to disappear pretty quick.

Thanks for quick help.
Mabey I will post in a few days a walk report or pictures, because it seems it will be rather nice weather there.

Already tried that... http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/vi ... =30#p31926
The screams of the campers up Glen Luibeg when my mate's wee sheltie ran off in the night, head and chest covered in luminous green gunk from a chemical lightstick, were hilarious.... there's nothing quite like a glowing disembodied hell-hound's head bobbing towards you in the night to really discombobulate you on your camping trip...
