Rain stopped play, Meall an t-Seallaidh Walk

Paul parked van at Lochernhead car park and we walked through the village to the last road on right and on up to the old railway. We walked straight ahead, through Edinchip Farm. The walkers route is sign posted here so no problem with access. No need to go up to the railway using trail. At end of the farm is sign post for old railway and a gate for access. At the top end of the field is another gate and sign post for Glen Kendrum, pointing over the bridge over the old railway. Simple really. Along walk up the farm track to the bealach between the two hills. We had lunch there. That was when it clouded over. So we decided to go up the big one first. Weather not looking good now, we could see incoming rain, Vorlich had disappeared. A bit boggy getting across but the climb up was fine. It was now a race to the top to beat the weather.

No photos of Vorlich this time. Managed to keep the camera dry to take these pics. By now heavy rain and we were going to get very wet indeed. So we bailed out, straight off the top and over the heather to the track. It felt a long way in the rain. By the time we got back to the farm, it had stopped for a little and we were starting to dry out. The farm was busy collecting sheep and we had to avoid some of them to get through. Back at van we dried ourselves as best we could before heading home.

It shows how quickly the weather can change! These 2 are cracking view points, shame the weather didn't play ball, but at least you still have an excuse to go back and get Creag Mac Ranaich
