It’s finally autumn midterm holiday and I’m gone to the Highlands. After a short night in Glasgow I took the 5.20 am train to Arrochar on October the seventeenth. Once I had gotten out of the train I stood still for minutes on a deserted platform in a complete silence. Under a starry sky I walked past Glen Loin in the direction of Ben Vane. The Ben was steep but not difficult. It was a beautiful sunny day that will be remembered.

The wee steep one, I remember it very well! It was my 5th munro and I was quite chuffed to have climbed this steep rocky beast(ie). Your approach through Glen Loin looks good! :D

Hi Spiderweb, Jamesb63 and Silverhill! Ben Vane and the other Arrochar Alps are superb. Over the past few years I’ve been there very often but they never tire me. I’ll return to The Cobbler quite soon. The days in Arrochar were beyond description, so unearthly beautiful. It’s been two weeks now since I’ve come home but I’m already longing to go back.
