Parking was easy to find as described in the WH overview (enough for maybe 5 cars parked sensibly) ....as was the gate a few hundred metres along the road eastwards towards Forter

Having passed through the gate, the path wasn't easy to spot at all so we headed straight upwards. This was boggy in places to start with, but quickly got firmer as the ground got more frozen and snow covered. Only later, on the way back, were we able to follow the footsteps others had left to follow the correct path – which was just as boggy as our route up.

Overall, not much to say about the walk – not particularly interesting, being straight up and down over open moorland. But the views of the southern Cairngorms and Perthshire hills were excellent. It took us around 3 hours, but included lots of stops for pictures and the obligatory cuppa at the summit in the shelter of the toposcope

Yeh, not a lot you can say about this one.

Park, walk uphill, reach the top, walk back down again.

But another good day out for you.
