Big walk with a big ascent in a very hot burning day

Back home at 16:00

Conditions: very very very hot...I spent over 4.5 l of drinks in the mountains, only during the walk...plus a lot of liquid before and especially after

this part of way up via the Glen towards Beinn Dorain and Beinn Dothaidh was endless in the hot conditions...I felt every one meter of the ascent

That is a big walk, Petr, and a lot of ascent. You got some excellent views. Two friends and I linked these three summits with a route similar to yours, in reverse, two years ago. But we started and finished at Achallader, which cut down on the amount of climbing. But our route therefore didn't finish right at the hotel, so we had to drive there and couldn't drink beer! You say the beer tasted more than well - anything like as good as a velký Plzeňský Prazdroj from a proper pivnice?

I once attempted the Welsh 3000's in a June heatwave; I got so hot and thirsty I had to give up at Ogwen.

I have a similar route in mind for the first fine weekend (or maybe after a Beinn Challium route), mainly because it's only 6.5 hours drive one way, rather than 10+. So it's good to see what it looks like up close and personal...

I once attempted the Welsh 3000's in a June heatwave; I got so hot and thirsty I had to give up at Ogwen.

That's really uncanny! I had exactly the same experience, doubly frustrating because I was 20 minutes ahead of a 9.5 hour schedule. But that means nothing if you don't actually finish ... . Never got anywhere near that time subsequently

thank you the heat is really worse than any winter cold and snowy conditions ! I feel much fresher in the winter time despite the extra effort in the snow, which i like it
