Just had the intention of bagging the western top of Carn Dearg so opted for the tourist track. HEAVING! Every charity and three peaks group out. After the summit I had intended to plod back down with the masses but the thought depressed me.
Instead, I descended to the CMD arête, did a bit of filming and then descended into Coire Leis from the cairn before the arête. It is steep and loose but also manageable (I had a fair amount of weight on my back and a Jack Russell on a lead). Then contoured back round from the main tourist track.
Please have a look at the video - wasn't easy carrying all the extra kit. Was also waiting for gaps in the cloud and fighting updrafts which made it more stressful.
