Mount Keen is very prominent from many places and i can also see Mount Keen from my back garden
. Mount Keen is in the Cairngorms, there are very good views from this hill you can see Bennachie, Lochnagar, Morven, Mona Gowan, Clachnaben, Cairn o' Mount, Tap o' Noth, The Buck, Ben Rinnes, Mount Battock and last but not least Knock hill.
We drove from Inverurie to Glen Esk it took an hour and a half to drive there. Once there we set off at a good pace as rain was forecast for the afternoon.
The paths were in good condition and we soon arrived at the Queens Well. We marched on and soon started to climb the hill. About 200m distance away from the summit we found a boundary stone, and we saw Lochnagar, Tap o' Noth, The Cabrach, The Buck, Clachnaben, Beinn na Ciech (Bennachie) and Tyrebagger hill. At the top we saw Knock Hill, Cairn o' Mount. We had are lunch at the top and sheltered from the wind. On the way down the rain started as forecast but that didn't spoil my enjoyment of climbing my first Munro. Hopefully many more to come.
