- start of walk
Steven and I set off from the car park on the A87 at 9.30 and made our way along to the track and up for a short distance before striking off up the path which was surprisingly good considering it was such a steep grassy slope.
- time for a cuppa
We had been dreading this section but it was soon over and we had views of our first top in the distance and with visibility great we could clearly see the way ahead. We stopped for a cuppa about have way up this section and arrived at the top of A’Chralaig at 12.30, on top were two cairns one very large and well-built and one very small.
- first top of the day
We had lunch and enjoyed the amazing views. Then we set off along the path towards Mullach. This is the type of ledge walk I love but it would be fair to say Steven is not so keen on the narrow rocky sections but he kept going and we both arrived at the top of Mullach Fraoch-choire. We had great view down into Glen Affric and all round lots of hills in the distance but we were not sure which ones they were.
- Second top Glen Affric behind
- Big Cairn little cairn
- small stuff
We soon retraced our step along the ridge then dropped down into the valley first section was scree then it was grassy then boggy for a long way before we eventually reach a land rover track which took us back to the road. Steven drove us back to the Hostel and made salmon for tea while I had a bath a great way to finish a long day.
