Not been posting for a while, after a change of work pattern in 2015 scuppered any chances of getting on the hills. However have got back on them this year and decided to do a round of Loch Muick taking in the 5 muros.
Drove down Tuesday night and parked up in the campervan in Glen Muick about 19:00. Got a visit from the police about an hour later, just checking on who was in the area.

Headed off next morning just after 8 and could see that the tops were shrouded in cloud but hoped they would clear later in the day, they didn't. Anyway what can I say, I spent most of the day in visibility ranging from 50 to 100 yards with the odd spell getting down to about 20, so not any views really. There was a brief spell shortly after Broad Cairn when I could actually see some hills, which really helped as I had just had a brief MOSOD moment.
I had taken a bearing from the summit and headed off but decided I didn't like it, and not being able to see anything that it would be better to wander off in another direction. Thankfully common sense prevailed and I got the compass back out, reversed my tracks and spotted the crags on the other side of Dubh Loch which allowed me to get back to where I wanted to head.

Need to go back sometime and actually see Lochnagar, cloud completely obscured it.
Theres a Starva link below for the walk, hopefully it works
