Awesome report Petr. We are planning to do the same over two days, and include Cairn Gorm at the start. Do you think that's possible?

Thank you redrook, hope the report can help you :)
I skiped Cairn Gorm in my route, because I did it just a few days before with my family, but if you will start with Cairn Gorm you can then easily add also Carn a'Mhaim on the way from Ben Macdui and then just connect the usual traverse from Devil's Point to Braeriach especially if you have two days available  I wish you the best weather for your trip, enjoy the wilderness ! :D

Just read this a second time - because I've just been converted to Cairngorms, and did my first round up there a couple of weeks ago.

Although I started from the South, I covered much of the same ground; and indeed my experience of Ben Macdui was much as yours!! In fact I didn't get out of the clag until Cairn Toul.
