I was out last Sunday to Tuesday with a Silver DofE assessment group going from Invercauld Bridge to Linn of Dee via Glen Quoich, Derry Lodge and White Bridge. Myself and my colleagues had a few hours to kill on Monday at Corrour Bothy while waiting for them to come along Glen Luibeg and down the valley of the River Dee, so with it being a nice autumnal day, a couple of us thought we'd nip up the Point. Didn't fancy the path up through Coire Odhar AGAIN so we picked a route up the front and enjoyed a bit of scrambling. Far superior to the tourist route. :D

Nice one - looks an interesting way up. I haven't been up DP yet so I might just follow your lead! :)

I looked at this recently on my (weary) way up Carn a' Mhaim - not - of course - because I needed a rest.
It looked pretty appealing, but having spent half the day in clag, my immediate thought was: not a good idea inadvertently - eg in clag - to take the direttissima downwards...!

But the pics you've included here suggest it's not too horrendous. Did you go directly up the slabs???
