Best ridge walk yet! A touch of snow and a covering of frost gave this hike a classic bit of extra adrenaline. Scrambling over the crazy pinnacles had a wonderful edge to it although slips could have been fatal, so rather than head down the Clachaig gully after Sgorr nam Fiannaidh, we made the safer descent via the Pap of Glencoe route.

'rather than heading down Clachaig Gully'..... etc.
Clachaig Gully has several rock pitches within its dark interior so would have definitely been an unwise decision.
I have ascended and descended on a few occasions to the West of the gully but that has presented problems for folks on a few times over the years. There is a great deal of loose material here that requires care when descending.

Oh how I love to see the word "fatal" in a walk report.

Nice one, not many folk out on the Aonach Eagach at this time of year. And yes your right, great care is required.

Lol, pretty much any slip on the AE would be fatal. I think the Walkhighlands route description downplays the exposure, which is pretty constant throughout the route IMO.
