I did this walk from the cafe just off the A73. It was a fine day, Sun was shinning as I set out and was around for most of the climb though it clouded over later. It was a not particulary high climb, 2320ft, but it was very steep in places. a most invigorating climb that certainly blew away the cobwebs.

The rocky summit looks very different to the heather clad slopes. On my to-do list.

Nice photos Alfredo. I'm from that area originally and Tinto is/was my local hill. One time a few friends and I walked up on a bitter cold Wintery day. We had to hold on to the fence in your photos to stop ourselves from blowing away in the wind, and it had HUGE icicles all along it. It was brrrr :) .

Last time I went on a charity walk with my sister and her workmates, and when we got to the top they pulled all sorts of home baking goodies out of their rucksacks for lunch. Top tip: walking with a bunch of mumsy midwifes is yum :D .

Not been up here yet although it is only about 45mins away. Tinto always looks great from the train on the west coast main line. Like the photos :) .

Re the Tinto Cafe. I have heard the owner is not particulary welcoming to walkers.
