A very windy but bright Monday afternoon walk on the excellent Whinfell Ridge and back through lovely Borrowdale - or the "M6 to the A6 and back again" as my mate put it.

Avoided walking into the wind at high level by doing it this way and it made for a good walk.

You could regain height and walk back along the Whinash Ridge on the other side of the valley (which I have done before) but it's much to be preferred to walk back through Borrowdale along a lovely track....particularly as we were walking back into the fierce wind!
