I liked the first day (Milgarnie - Balmaha) and the stretch from Tyndrum to Fort William. The part in between Balmaha and Tyndrum I enjoyed less because of the constant presence of the busy A82 within ear-distance.

Balmaha is a magical place to enjoy the absolute silence by the Loch at night.

My top tip would be not to try to walk from Balmaha to Inverarnan in one go because it may end up becoming very long to the point where you will have to walk in the dark. If you do so regardless, then leave at sunrise.

If you are thinking about skipping a day, do not skip the part from Inveroran to King's House because it is an absolute highlight. The crossing of the Moore on the old Parliamentary road has beautiful scenery and the historic context gives it an extra touch.

The Inveroran Inn is located at the beginning of the Parliamentary road in an isolated and beautiful place. I would have loved to spend the night there. The Inn has new owners and is much better managed than many of the longstanding old Inn's along the West Highland Way.

Hi i did it a few years back and plan to do it in a week or two again! weirdly the A82 was never an issue for me and i hardly noticed it! except when bases and cars wold give me a wee toot which was much appreciated!

i agree about the kings house part, though i got to the top of the Devils stair case in lovely sunshine and it was covered in snow, which was beautiful for 5 minutes until trying to walk in it!
