Beinn Nah-nain

Don't know what was wrong with me today, I was having an off day and just could not get going! Getting to the start didn't help, it took over an hour longer than expected! My Plan had been to get Beinn Narnain, Beinn Ime andd maybe add the Cobbler as well but that all went out of the window and I ended up settling for the one! Even then, on the way up I kept thinking about abandoning the trip and just heading back down, but Moss seemed to come over as if encouraging me to go on so we did reach the summit. Going down was more fun, the track was a mess and the are remaking part of the track, so a bit of bum sliding down grass to cut off some of the worst corners. It was a simple case of following the Cobbler route there and back, nothing fancy.

I'll just leave this with some photos of Moss, who did enjoy her day!

Seemed to be a lot of roadworks, and I got stuck at each one. Whereas heading back over the back roads I was straight through!

Yeah Moss kept me going, the advantage of having dogs a walk has to be had regardless!

I was up there last week and for my second visit I didn't manage to add in Beinn Narnain yet again, definitely something about it! Think i'll do it and A'Chrois when I do get round to climbing it...

I get those days too - maybe it's something in the water!
Lovely set of photos though - at least the dug enjoyed it!

I've done Narnain a few times, but I enjoyed it most a couple of years ago going up the Spearhead and across to A Chrois before dropping back down over it's end to rejoin the outward route. On a good day the views are great.

Sometimes you just don't feel "in the zone", we've all been there. In fact, I'm always impressed by the many solo walkers on this site who keep heading on over multiple summits. When I'm on my own, I tend to find myself more likely to talk myself out of it, or realise I've dawdled so much I'm running late...

Funny how the mojo just goes sometimes. You were lucky to have an enthusiastic walking partner We have been known to talk each other into giving up and I don't think we have ever gone back to finish a hill we have abandoned in this manner.
I always enjoy the pictures of your dogs enjoying themselves and posing in such splendid situations

I'm blaming the traffic, my ankle was feeling sore from driving, did settle down when walking though fortunately I don't mind driving for a long time when I know it is a long drive, but I'm no use when it takes longer than I expect and I get fed up quickly. Next time I'll go the other way, I dread to think what it could be like in summer! It was that bad though that I couldn't even be bothered to change my camera lens Maybe a good thing though as I did get some nice photos of Moss in the landscape.
