With the forecast indicating high temperatures and clear tops the day was set for a return visit to An Teallach. Certainly a top not be done in bad weather as the view down to Loch Toll an Lochain shouldn't be missed. The original plan was to complete the ridge from Sail Liath to Glas Mheall Mor in the north but circumstances forced a change of plan and we settling for the quick and straight forward tourist route from Dundonnell.

The climb to the col is a lot longer than it looks but the gradual rise and good track gets you to height quickly. Only when you reach the higher col between the Glas Mheall Mor and Bidein a' Ghlas Thuill does the mountain start to show its dramatic side with steep craggy coires...... spectacular.

The final pull up onto the ridge is via a good track which cuts across under the summit to ease the ascent but tops out and presents one of the best views of this classic mountain.

The short pull up onto the first munro and its trig point gives excellent view along the east ridge out towards Glas Mheall Liath.

The linking ridge to Sgurr Fiona to straight forward and can be taken straight on after the col or slightly right to traverse onto the west ridge before gaining the final height. The views from Sgurr Fiona and surround tops are stunning particularly into Fisherfield and Letterewe.

The return route was simply retracing the ascent which was a joy in a day of glorious weather.... 23 degrees was the temperature back at the car, certainly a day to remember and I'll enjoy viewing the short movie of our day during the cold grey winter months.
