Green Crag to Hard Knott and a couple of outliers

A return to the lakes for a sunny midweek day from beautiful Eskdale.

Firstly over Green Crag and round to Hard Knott from there over Harter Fell.

With the weather so good and plenty of time left in the day it seemed a shame not to find something else to do and I noted that we could climb Stickle Pike - an outlier - on the way back.

This worked beautifully and what a cracking little hill it was combined with nearby Great Stickle.

Looks a great day out. A question. Where is best to park if doing Green Crag on its own from Eskdale? Thanks.

We parked at Wha House Car Park (free and space for say 10 cars?) and walked back along the road.

When I first did Green Crag years ago I'm sure we parked at the Woolpack Inn but not sure if that's still allowed?

Others may know better.

Nice walk, great report and one that I did last Sept. For RTC parking for Green Crag. I parked at the Woolpack last Sept with no problem but only polite to call for a drink on returning to car as way of a thank you
There is also a small parking area just on the right in front of a small paddock where I have also parked, again no problems there either

Thanks. I'm hoping to get down to Wasdale Head YH in September to mop up Southern and Western Wainwrights, including Green Crag. On my last trip to the Lakes at the start of July I made a detour on way home to Dufton Pike. Your reports on D.P. had put the idea in my head. I wasn't disappointed. Nice hill. Another thanks.
