Hi there folks,
I don’t normally join this type of site but when I was scrolling through information on the Munros I found that Walkhighlands is loaded with great information! I’ve signed up so hope to get some top tips from you guys for future ventures both in Scotland and also the Lakes.
Lets see how we get on and hopefully I can start knocking off a few on my Munroe & Lakeland Maps
Regards,
Paul

Top tips...

...vaseline. Can be used in many unexpected places - apply liberally before you leave, anywhere you chafe.

...when breaking in new boots, don't start the process on the hill.

...no matter how big the load, a bar of chocolate is always worth adding to your pack. In the summer, the same goes for more water.

...it's all too beautiful, but don't forget to look down occasionally, or your boots will look like mine - scabby.

...kids get wet. Seemingly without water being involved. And don't get me started about dogs!

:P

Welcome!

Errrm – thanks for the tips, I’ll keep them in mind.

I totally agree about kids getting wet without water – I have a young son and would also like to include muddy, messy, dirty as well as wet to the list!!

Thanks for the welcome posting though – much appreciated.
