we did this lone Munro as where we were based the weather forecast was shocking, but in the east it was better. Having looked at the map now, the far more interesting (but far longer and more arduous) route would have been from the Loch Turrent dam on the SE side. This barely felt like climbing a mountain, but it was a very enjoyable summit affording fine views to Ben Lawers.
The final ridge to the summit is marked by yet more iron work fencing and an array of impressive grouse butts

I look cold in this picture because it was bloody cold. It was blowing fairish and the wind-chill was significant!
