Been waiting for a chance to do this walk for a while as I find decent sized loops hard to come by.
weather forecast said rain all day but not heavy so it seemed like a good idea. I also decided to alter the route a little as I wanted to take in loch drunkie as well.
the going was a bit rough between bealach nan carn and loch drunkie but I soldiered on and got there in the end. made my way round to Glen Finglas visitors centre and as it was closed made use of there doorway as a nice shelter for lunch. the climb out of Glen Finglas is a bit steep but worth it as the views along that stretch of the great trossachs path are fantastic. Took a wee climb up to the iron age fort because it was there and got some nice views before heading back to the car. I really enjoyed this walk and would recommend it in any weather. I will probably be back in the summer to try and see it on a nice clear day. I anyone has any recommendations for any other "loops" of a similar size and nature I would love to hear about them, thanks.

Must make a point of doing this one at some point! I stick to lower levels in the winter.

Here are a few of the circuits I've done

- Loch Leven Circuit is 12 miles, easy going on cycle tracks and a couple of places to stop for a snack - https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/perthshire/loch-leven.shtml

- Glen Banvie just over 10 miles, goes out onto open moorland but good tracks throughout - https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/perthshire/glen-banvie.shtml

- Bealach na Searmoin follows the track up to Ben Vrackie but stays lower down. You can add a loop that goes around the lochan and rejoin the main track that way as well, or even include Ben Vrackie if conditions are suitable - https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/perthshire/bealach-route.shtml

thanks for the info Kat. I like to stay low in the winter too but still like to get my boots dirty now an then. Done the loch leven walk on a bitterly cold morning back in November and really enjoyed it. I was blown away by the amount of wildlife I saw that day. should really do a report on that too. Will check out your other suggestions and hopefully try them soon. thanks again and enjoy your day round venechar!
