Glen Dessary 3 plus Sgurr Mor

Glen Dessary 3 plus Sgurr Mor

Hi, has anyone tagged on Sgurr Mor to the usual 3 in Glen Dessary ?
If so I'm interested to hear of the extra strain and mileage in adding Sgurr Mor to the 3.
Cheers :)

Yes. Pretty decent path a lot of the way but its a long slog out back to loch arkaig at the end with a burn crossing thrown in too. You'll want to do Sgurr an Fhuarain as well...

Was it yourself who asked this on Facebook too?

Here's my stats from when I done the 4 Munros, had my girlfriend with so I could shaved some time of that if I was on my own:

Total ascent: 2,440m
Total time: 14hrs 35mins
Total distance: 34.5km.

Coming out of Glen Kingie was the toughest part of the day, otherwise a cracking day out.

Did this with an overnight on the ridge heading from Sgurr Mor towards the rest of the route. A lochan high up was ideal to camp by. The extra gear made it a bit harder but worth doing.
The route back down to the start is a slog from memory.

If you are going to do Sgurr an Fhuarain, you might as well continue ENE and knock off Gairich as well, then return to loch Arkaig via the pass between Fraoch Bheinn and Sgur Mhurlagain. A long day with much ascent, but probably doable for a strong walker.
