Not an epic story with lots of photos but a caption to sum up a stonking day in the blistering heat in the Grey Corries.

A few pointers - if you're doing Stob Ban then you have a choice of a rounder trip with not so much out and back. Or, you can bike into the Bothy and 80% of the ride out is freewheel but it's mainly out and back ....

First learning point - the track to the bothy is mainly uphill for 70% of the way in, we walked the bikes a fair way.
Second learning point - bothy was good to hide from clegs and to try to cool down before using feet.
Third learning point and this is more important, carry on up the track before taking a path up the shoulder/spur onto Stob Ban. The "easy path" beside the Allt is not all that easy to follow and must be boggy as hell when conditions not as dry as they have been. Furthermore, the last push up is much better the way we did it, the path up/down from the bealach is a mess.

Met some lovely people on the walk, lady bagging the two she had left behind previously; chap working his way back to fitness after achilles trouble and just some other nice people - thank to two of you for picking up dropped water bottles, seems elastic has gone on my rucksack so they pop out when empty.

Long day, very hot, several beers watching Russia and Croatia in the evening, another shitty day in paradise :)

This weather is to die for, all we have to do is find an anti-cleg solution !
