Your photo of the day

Your photo of the day

I think this could be a good thread.
Most people now have digital cameras and Im sure like me will have several quality pics depicting highland life that doesnt quite fit into a walk report. Im thinking about a sunset over Eilean Donan Castle (think most people have at least one of these), or a local highland games, a shinty match, a waterfall, or maybe you have driven down a remote glen and popped out of the car to take a pic of the autumn leaves etc...

I would suggest just one pic per person per day with a wee description.

so here is the first offering... it is the 2 corbetts in Strathconon; Meallan nan Uan (left) and Sgurr a'Mhuillin. Taken back in February on a glorious wintry morning.

another day, another photo.
This is Ben Stack in Sutherland, a fantastic wee hill. Pic taken at about 9pm. I was camping just off the road and listening to the uefa cup final on my wind up radio, when the light from the sun turned that golden colour.

Earlier in the day i’d done the Corbett Meall na Fearna in cloud and rain and never got a view :(
The sun came out as i got back to the car :? (didn‘t pay to get an early start that day) and it turned into a beautiful day.

Not really the "highlands" but this was an amazing Wednesday afternoon in February. I love the Pentlands - 5 minutes from my house and I can carry my DSLR which I don't (because of the weight) on longer outings.

The sunset at Eilean Donan then;

eilean donan 4 copy.jpg

maybe not the best one I have, but the one I like the best. would have been nice if the tide was in, but the colour of the sky was so amazing here.
