Import Walking Route to Google Maps

Postby alrbkmt » Fri Dec 28, 2018 8:38 pm

Hi!

My best friend and I traveled to Scotland for my 50th birthday and we are returning July 2019. For our first trip, I imported the walking routes directly to Google Maps but can not remember how I did. Could someone please help me with pointers on how to get the routes to my Google Map?

Thanks so much!

Thanks for your message.

We'd strongly advise that you do not try to use Google maps to navigate when out on walking routes. It doesn't display any of the topographic information you'll need, and also doesn't usually work when you are offline.

If you are wanting to use digital navigation tools to show mapping then we'd strongly recommend something like Viewranger where you can install proper topographic maps (such as Ordnance Survey) and use them offline.
