Really enjoyed some of the long walks we did this year, Jocks road (and back), three stages of the SNT from Blair Atholl to Kingussie over a few days was spectacular. Had a great time in Skye for a week.
This year I plan to spend more time on the West coast, I'm not bored of the Cairngorms but since they are my nearest playground I usually end up there. I do fancy a bit of variety this year.
Need to work out how to pack my rucksack for solo trips now Jen is no longer a part of my team, need to also think whether I keep the brand new MSR elixir 3 man tent. It's light enough but a bit large for just myself.
Ben Vane is on my list for 2018. I've made it to the Arrochar Alps 3 times this year and only managed Ben Vorlich. I hope to find a way to avoid the new parking charges.
The last few years have been exceptionally difficult on a personal level, I plan to walk my way to happiness this year. I'm never as happy as I am when I have passed the last pylon and my phone signal is long gone. My target is a walk or a hill a week but I may well just dissapear along the whole of the SNT. It is always at the back of my mind for some reason.
A navigation course to improve my confidence in bad weather. I can use a map and a compass but have much still to learn.
And finally, to write more walk reports.
