Plans for 2019

Keeping expectations real for what is going to be a busy year, not always in hill terms.

Get the Munro tally to 182, then 200 (if can match 2018's tally of 30+, will be happy with that).
Looking to get Corbetts up closer to the 100-mark and make some inroads on Grahams and Donalds, which dried-up in 2018.
Beyond excited to be heading into the Pyrenees for a few days in Autumn 2019.

Have fun on the hills, see some views, try to avoid getting too wet, camp out a few times.

Yes, you can skirt round the first buttress on its left hand side before re-joining the ridge. Or (not done it) the whole scramble can be bypassed on that side.

Thanks for the info, it will be worth giving it a go, at worst I'll have to turn back. Looking at this photo there looks to be an easyish diversion around the ridge proper, although arguably an inferior way to do the ridge.

It would be lovely to get down to under 100 Corbetts to go and would also be nice to visit some new lakeland fells.

As I said last year, it would be nice to arrange a camping trip with the DH - I didn't manage to persuade him this year, but will continue to chip away If we get another warm spell like May, that will certainly help.

Mainly just to enjoy as many good days on the hills as I can. A week near Cannich booked, and lots more twinkles in the eyes.

Tick off the 8 remaining Angus hills. These are all relatively local to me so should be easy enough to find the time to do at some point this year.

I am also going to be based in Nairn for at least 3 months at the start of 2019 so tick off as many of the hills in Moray as possible.

Get out and tick off some more of the Munros, should be fairly straightforward to find new stomping grounds from Nairn if the non snowy weather holds.

Basically get out in the hills more!

Nothing abroad this year. This is a "saving up" year after Nepal last November. I quite fancy Cathedral Peak in the Drakensberg but that'll be one for 2020 I think.

This year, I'm all signed up for the first two WH meets so I'm looking forward to both of those. I'm doing my first TGO Challenge in May which is jolly exciting. Then after that it'll be into training again to try and beat me Glencoe Marathon time from last year. I'd also like to do my first trail Ultra and am looking tentatively at the Glen Ogle 33 later in the year for this.

Another 250 Marilyns...or get serious about finishing off the second rounds of Munros and Corbetts...or Munro tops...or Simms...or just go out for lots of lovely walks?

Started 2019 by climbing Tinto Hill. Although not a Munro, most folk I know consider it a challenge. Scheduling Ben Lawers next, then Schehallion. The aim is to climb Snowdon before my birthday in July.

Just to get back out on the hills a bit more regularly. Can't see that happening though since the second wee boy came along last year so don't want to start putting numbers down as I'm afraid I'll just set myself up for dissappointment.

prog99. Not worked out my route yet for Snowdon. Researching now and happy for any advice you can give. I've climbed Ben Nevis 3 times, and a fair few other Munros and Corbits, so I'm sure it can't be any worse.

Bumping this to see how everyone faired with their plans for the last year.

I managed to tick of quite a few of the small hills in Moray, and NONE of the outstanding hills in Angus. Work and uni kept me very busy this year it would seem, and now my hill fitness is basically gone, which is very frustrating.

Plans were to complete a second Corbett round and get out for more wild camps.
Finished the Corbett on 1st November and did more camps this year than last.
Pleased that Allison’s in touching distance of her second Corbett round now - hopefully finish her last 2 in the next week: given she started the year 35 behind me that’s not bad.
