Do you want to improve your navigation skills?

As many of you will know, every year we offer a number of courses run through Mountaineering Scotland especially for Walkhighlands users, run on a no-profit, minimal cost basis at just £35.

Feedback from those who've been on these has been great - you may find old posts about them - but the courses do always fill up fast - so why not book your place on one in 2019? This year's courses are in the Pentlands and Ochils in June and October.

Full details and bookings are through this webpage.

Hi, trying to book but the cost is £45 for me as a non Mountaineering Scotland member. Is that correct? Thanks.

OK - issue resolved. Cost for 16th June course £45 but 15th June £35. Makes no odds which day I go so all fine. Thanks,

The cost of all the Walkhighlands dates is £35 and includes a free year's membership of Mountaineering Scotland if you are not a member.

I think you might have been looking at their other non-WH courses.

If you've any further questions about the course you need to contact them direct.

Hi, as Paul says, the total charge should be £35, which includes a year's membership of Mountaineering Scotland. I've looked into the system and see there may have been an error in the database rules. Our admin is looking into this now and will get it all sorted out.

Excellent. I've been keeping an eye out for these being posted - thank you.

Now to decide whether to book a June course so I can practise the skills when on the hills in the summer, or book an October course because it's much easier for me to get to!

Hi

My friend and I have booked and the price was £45 as we were not Mountaineering Scotland members. £35 for the course and £10 one year Mountaineering Scotland
membership.

“Cost is £35 for members, and £45 for non-members (includes one year's membership of Mountaineering Scotland)” Mountaineering Scotland website.

Still a really good price for what you get.

Your quote is from other Mountaineering Scotland navigation courses on other dates. The quote for the Walkhighlands courses is:
"The courses are being run on a no-profit, minimal cost basis and are £35 each which includes a year’s free membership of Mountaineering Scotland". This was confirmed by cairngormwanderer above in this thread.

See
https://www.mountaineering.scot/whnavigation

This £35 rate including free membership of MS is only for the Walkhighlands courses, on June 15 & 16 (June dates now full) and 18 & 19 October.
