I've done this walk in the last few days, once at low tide with a moody sky and once at high tide with blue skies and a glorious sunset. The pics below are a mixture from both days - usually it will be pretty obvious which is which! If the wildlife (and especially the waders) are your thing then I would advise going at or near low tide. The sound of Oystercatchers and Curlews piping away is magical...and not really what you expect to hear so close to the big city.

The walk itself is pretty straightforward...the section around the north of the point is pretty muddy, but nothing too serious. Other than that it is a great wee walk to have on your doorstep (well it's on my doorstep anyway) and it's pretty popular. I would imagine the parking would get problematic on a sunny summer's day, especially at the weekend.
