extending walk to Rob Roys house

This is a fantastic walk with some amazing views. Beware though if considering extending the route via Rob Roys house. Firstly the walk down through the forest is navigable, but there is no direct footpath. Once down to the house (Its is a couple of courses of stones) there is no path, and the bridge across the gorge / river is missing. This means a long walk (extra 3-4 km back up hill to meet the path.
The advantage though is you can walk straight into the village for a well deserved drink!

No photo of the house? We didn't manage to locate it when we went, and eventually decided to give it a miss.

Yes, any photo please? I tried to find this too, but severely regretted it I did come across old ruin, but pretty sure not old enough to be the right hoose!

Seems to be some doubt that it's old enough, or whether he lived there at all.

Thanks very much jmarkb. You can see from this report that lovely as Glen Shira is, it seemed imbued with a "Get Off My Land" ethos, so we didn't really want to linger.
