Routes in southwest Lewis

I am looking at possibilities for multi-day hikes in southwestern Lewis and was wondering if anyone here has ever walked from Hushinish around Loch Reasort back to the coast at Breinis. Is the area north of the loch too boggy? Any advise would be highly appreciated.

I think you can rest assured the entire island is too boggy. You're not going in midgie/clegg season are you? You'll get eaten alive! How about a coastal walk up the west coast of Harris? Lovely views, bail out at Tarbert.

I think you would need to be prepared for a lot of very rough and boggy terrain, but if you keep to the higher ground there is a fair amount of exposed rock: https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4032305

We done the 3 Bhals in Glen Tamnasdail a few years back in relative dry conditions and there was a lot of wet,boggy and rough ground so I would expect worse on lower ground.

It is indeed boggy and a bit of a roller coaster height wise.....views however (between rain clouds) is amazing

The stretch of coast south of Mealasta is actually pretty good going, and very fine. There are excellent routes from there eastward up to the Uig hills, again mostly good going underfoot.

CalMac are going through a bit of a rough time lately eg ferries breaking down and new ones undelivered by ship yard plus the inevitable weather cancellations - be flexible when you plan your trip - although of course the Western Isles are awful anyway - terrible place

Skye too, the Mallaig - Armadale ferry is a ridiculously small, old-fashioned hulk which you have to reverse on or off of. And of course Skye is a terriible place of perpetual wind, rain and midgies anyway.
