Finally completed the Five Sisters (well 4.5) of Kintail, knackered towards the end so gave Sgurr na Moraich a miss.
Perfect November day for it, a little ice after a night of frost. Route finding up to the Bealach an Lapain from the Glen Shiel car park was challenging wasted an extra 30mins trying to find a path rather than trudging through tussock grass. Ending up trudging through the grass anyway, sapped a lot of energy. Battling against timing through the ridge walk, with the shortened winter hours. Simple committing grade 1 scramble downclimb at approx REF: NG987150. Lost a handhold and tumbled about 2metres, lucky there, only minor bruising. The nature of the descents through shattered boulders and rocky terrain with ice, meant an additional 15mins should be added to descent times to be on safe side.
Marvellous ridge walk, real adventure, views spectacular. Garmin showed 6500 calories burned, so celebrated with Fort Augustus fish and chips and a Skye beer.
